Product Overview
BassLine is an acoustics product applied to the inside of ANY
speaker cabinet to improve bass performance.
Each panel is 12''x 6'' x 1''.
When BassLine is installed in a speaker cabinet it changes the
acoustical atmosphere conducive to capturing the sound produced by the
back-wave,
from the bass driver.
What Results Can I Expect?
This product produces three-fold results:
-
The application of this product to the speaker cabinet walls lowers
their resonate frequency and reduces sound wave travel through the
walls of the speaker cabinet. Some estimates suggest that up to
30%
of total sound emanating from a speaker system is through the walls
of the enclosure.
-
The insulation works to improve the overall performance of the speaker,
by reducing the effects of
standing waves inside the cabinet - thereby diffusing them as
opposed to just absorbing them. Since BassLine SpeakerPanels
are made of wood pulp, they absorb a large quantity of the sound
created by the back-wave, eliminating standing waves. The remaining
clean sound exits the cabinet, resulting in a an increase in efficiency
compared to fiberglass or other materials. The force of the back-wave
(usually
tuned
by the
port
to a frequency lower than that produced by the
front-wave)
is allowed to join the force of the front-wave without some of the
degrading artifacts.
-
The integration of front-wave energy added to the back-wave enhanced
by BassLine and the cabinet itself creates
harmonic resonance
adding color to the lower
midrange.
This re-creates vocals with feeling while achieving VERY clean bass.
 The
BassLine SpeakerPanels application can achieve sound well beyond
the limits of audibility into the range of pure
subsonic energy
that moves the body and stirs the soul... A sound long sought after
by audiophiles and discriminating music listeners.
The bottom line is that BassLine SpeakerPanels are effective,
inexpensive and simple to apply; resulting in an improved efficiency
and tighter
low end.
This insulation produces best results when used with
ported enclosures
(i.e. home stereo, P.A., sub woofers, guitar speakers and drums).
BassLine will have minimum effect on air tight cabinets or in passive
radiator style units.

Is BassLine egg cartons?
A.
No but the shape of our product is the same. This shape absorbs
50%
of the sound.
Q.
Will installing BassLine in my speakers change the area-volume
of the interior of my cabinets?
A.
No problem. BassLine takes up the same volume as fiberglass and
other insulation products. Each installed panel results in
14 cubic cm.
of displacement.
Q.
Can I become involved with selling BassLine?
A.
Yes, any person can. It's fun and profitable. Your wholesale price is

Customer Testimonials
When founder and current president of Eagle's Talon Productions
Inc., Mr. Carl Billington, sent his acoustic panels for
testing to Prague, Czech Republic, I was very happy. I think
this is a very notable and effective product for cleaning
up your bass. I think this is notable and effective product
for audiophiles and manufacturers who want to clean up the
bass region.
This Canadian producer has its seat in Gabriola Island -
British Columbia, Canada. They are focused on the production
of BassLine SpeakerPanels. Mr. Carl Billington and
his crew offer this interesting product for application
inside loudspeakers. This company was established in 1996.
They are dedicated to enhancing sound globally. When BassLine
panels are installed in a speaker cabinet it changes the
acoustical atmosphere conducive to capturing the sound produced
by the back-wave, from the bass driver.
Coloration of sound produced by the back-waves inside of
speaker enclosures is not an easy problem to deal with.
Most loudspeaker manufacturers use a combination of things
to combat it, such as cross bracing and various types of
damping material (fiber glass, foam, lead). In spite of
this, there is often some residual vibration of the enclosure
when sound is being reproduced through the drivers.
Accessories and tweaks will improve the sound of any system.
Some will give you a slight improvement in sound for a large
sum of money and some will give you a large improvement
with a small amount of money. The latter applies to BassLine
Speaker Panels. Big enhancement low cost. I tested
BassLine SpeakerPanels with a pair of Energy C-2
monitors with 6 and 1 half inch drivers. One speaker was
with the panels, and the second with the original fiber
glass. My results indicate that there was a significant
difference between the speaker with and the speaker without
the BassLine panels. I played music that had strong bass
notes. In summary, I found nice improvement in the quality
of the bass region in these small loudspeakers. The Bass
was clean and more firm, smooth, tighter response.
Replace fibreglass or other damping material in your speakers
with BassLine SpeakerPanels. Remove bass-drivers
and connection terminal. Install panels into your speakers
very carefully. Reinstall drivers. (full working procedure
is on the web-pages). Listen and review! My listening results?
Excellent bass range clarity is a result from these simple
acoustic panels. These panels aren't really tweaks, they're
essential for getting the best out of your system. It should
be noted that BassLine SpeakerPanels are the most
effective in the frequency region around 80-100Hz.
I have found the following product from Canadian firm Eagle's
Talon Productions Inc. is essential for great sound in the
low frequencies.
Individually and collectively this modification has improved
the sound of my loudspeaker system more than any component
upgrades such as new amplifiers, preamps, etc. I believe
my findings are applicable and useful to audiophiles in
general.

"I loaded BassLine SpeakerPanels into a pair of high-powered
monitors I use for serious concerts. I've used it successfully
in concerts with Kim Mitchell, Jeff Healy, Colin James,
Powder Blues, Prairie Oyster, Irish Rovers, Gary Fjellgaard,
54-40, and Dave Gogo. It tightened up the bottom end - made
it clearer. It breaks up standing waves and gets rid of
undesirable bass resonance."
Al Reimer, Owner/Operator of Reimer Audio, Nanaimo, BC,
Designer and builder of professional sound systems. |
"I installed them in my studio bass rig (a 400W 1 x 15 cab).
Immediately noticeable was an increase in SOLID bottom end,
not the kind of low midrangey bottom that it originally
had. I would have to guess that at around 50Hz there is
a noticeable improvement, and the port volume (to my ears)
seemed louder, which would probably account for some of
the low-frequency improvement. Installation was simple,
all I used was a knife to cut [the panels] to size. I'm,
impressed!!"

"We've been getting a pretty good response from musicians
on the net. Could be that people who have tried the product
have been talking. I know personally that after installing
the liners in one of my studio monitors I was amazed at
the difference. These are small KLH ported enclosures about
10" high and I was surprised that it would make any difference
at all. I am definitely going to the other monitor."

"In the Fall of 1998 we made arrangements for the Loft Cabaret
speakers to have BassLine SpeakerPanels installed
in them.
"The work was carried out by carl Billington (inventor)
and engineer Steve Choptiany. I am informed by our Sound
Technician, Steve Choptiany, that before the BassLine
was installed in the 6-18 inch sub woofers built by Alan
Reimer of Reimer Audio (Nanaimo, BC) the volume was maxed
right out. Since the installation there is better efficiency
and 1/3 volume potential left on the amps with the same
sound produced. It was also noted that the BASS sound from
the subs was crisper and cleaner, eliminating distortion.
